Each wedding in so unique. Please contact me to receive a survey that will help me give you a price for your wedding. This survey helps me customize shoot/editing time. I hire a second shooter to ensure we don't miss anything.
FAQ
How do we choose location?
I love helping you choose locations that fit your look. Things to consider when choosing a location style: where will you be putting prints, what colors of clothing will you be wearing. I like to compliment your style to the location. I will ask you some basic questions about this to determine a fun and beautiful spot for your photos. If you have ideas, please share. I try to keep your walking to a minimum unless you tell me otherwise. I don't want to take you on a sweaty hike before photos.
Where are you based and do you travel?
I am East of Altoona, and shoot within the Des Moines Area. If you want a shoot outside a 30 mile range, travel fees will apply.
When will we get our photos?
Turn around time depends on the season and will be communicated with you when we book the shoot. In general, you will receive an online gallery link within 2-3 weeks for a regular shoot. Seniors and extended sessions take 4-6 weeks. Weddings take much longer with an average of 4-5 months. (sometimes less depending on the season.) You can download the photos from the gallery and order prints! If you need any help with downloads or would prefer a flash drive, I can do that instead for a fee.
What if the weather is bad?
I aim to keep my schedule flexible so we can change plans according to what fits weather and schedules. We can make a lot look amazing. Snow, rain and stormy skies make for some amazing photos, so don't panic if that's what the weather looks like for your wedding day or a date you must keep. If you are feeling ill or the weather is going to be a problem during a shoot, please communicate with me, and I will do my best to find a time that works best.
How do I prepare kids for a photoshoot?
This is the time for bribery not discipline. Candy? Yes! Ice Crream? Yes! Playtime? Yes!
I taught for 13 years. There are no behaviors that will shock me or make me judge you or your kids. I want this to be an enjoyable experience for your entire family. Please share with me if you want formal/posed or casual/ candid looks. Either way, we can turn games into good photos. Mini sessions are not always ideal for littles. It takes a while to warm up and feel comfortable. I will do my best to create a fun and safe environment for your family.
do we own images after shoot?
Your package comes with a certain number of images. You own the rights to print and share. These will be downloaded via a website link. You can print where you like. However, my website is setup with a printer and my monitor is calibrated to their printers. You can seamlessly order prints through my site. You will still need to download your files to keep, since the website does expire and requires a fee to retrieve images. I highly recommend using my printer. If you choose to print elsewhere, color and quality may be less, this is especially true for black and white images.
I value price transparency so I try to give as much up front costs as possible. Please ask if you don't see something you are looking for.
